Up ten places from 09/10 is a marked and overdue improvement from the receeders. Bolton formed the spine of his side and that proved decent value for money. Inspired early season form from Berba gave them a good platform but despite excellent performances from the likes of Ridgewell and Dempsey, a lack of quality alternatives meant they just fell short at the final hurdle.
Saying that, 5th and a quarter final appearance is not too shabby and Stig will be pleased with his sides progress. No doubt his wife will have had to contend with plenty of lonely nights recently as Stig fires up his chimnea, smoking and sitting alone until the early hours pondering his tactics for the forthcoming year.
