After an outstanding 2009-2010 questions were asked if Boogie could maintain this level of performance. Whilst he was unable to repeat those achievements it was another very respectable season for the Flying Ducks.
The purchase of Fulham in goal was a real masterstroke, and some astute buys in midfield such as Adam, Etherington and Mulumbu meant Ducks had plenty of potential goalscorers.
However their downfall was in the striking department. If you walk away from the auction with Santa Cruz, Heskey and McFadden up front you are immediately on the back foot. The subsequent purchase of Peter Crouch didn’t help matters either.
Board Prediction: Expect another solid season, although will face increased competition for a coveted top 7 place.
